Waldsee – 1944

2005, 2B Gallery in Budapest, along with Hebrew Union College Museum, invited artists from the USA, Hungary, Germany,
South Africa, and Israel to create postcard size artwork in memory of the annihilation of Hungarian Jewry. During the
summer of 1944, Jews deported to Auschwitz were required to write deceptive postcards from the fictitious place of
Waldsee to their families, reassuring them that all was well.
